Many thanks to all our guests - it's time to say goodbye to Lapland Crossover Cuisine. We will be moving from the Gammelstad Church Town and thereby also closing our social dining venue. It's been a blast and we hope to see you again in our beautiful Nordic corner of the world!

Cod from the deep of the northern Atlantic fired up the outdoors grill season for us and it turned out very tasty indeed.

Lapland Crossover Goes Italy! Some super tasty pizzas, crowned by a heavenly sour dough boost resulting in a crust that's (almost) too good to be true. We sure are glad that it isn't!

What is better than a cup of good, freshly brewed coffee? I'd say a cup of freshly brewed coffee - or an espresso shot! - from beans roasted and ground at the premises. Actually, you shouldn't grind the beans directly after roasting - the flavor is fully developed after a couple of days - but we ...

Lapland Crossover Goes Korea!

You know about all those YouTube 'hacks'? We find many of them pretty miserable but, for once, we found a true Sour Dough Gem by MIkeG at Pro Home Cooks: '𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿!!' You bet we won't be doing that any more - behold the ultimate So...

Aubergine, chickpeas, tomato, herbs - that's a good start. Then add the super Crossover sour dough pita bread - fresh from our home bakery - with LCC za'atar topping, and the end result is a feast for the taste buds!

It was a first time for me with this 'at home' restaurant experience, and I really loved it! The hosts are so sweet and friendly and made heavenly food for us. Most of the ingredients are local and from their own garden which adds a lot to the taste, and for me is quite rare here in the northern parts of Sweden. For me one of the absolute peaks was their homemade ice cream that we had for dessert. Definitely one of the the most tasty ice cream deserts I've experienced in my life. I will definitely return in the future!

We had a lovely evening at Niilo & Gunvor's place! It was our first time trying out EatWith social dining and had a great time. Very cozy atmosphere, delicious food, good conversation and meeting locals made for a very nice experience! Gunvor cooked us a delicious meal of locally-sourced food & ingredients, some of it straight out of their own garden. It was a pleasure - we would come back anytime! Thanks for everything 😊🙏🏻

Awesome people, awesome place and wonderful food. Firmly rooted in the deep north with a solid foundation in the local and organical with plenty internatinonal influences. Based in seasonal availability and driven by curiosity makes for a fenomenal experience! A true taste of the north!

This was Lapland Crossover Cuisine

Our home - our Social Dining venue - was located in the picturesque Gammelstad Church Town, a unique UNESCO World Heritage site in Swedish Lapland that way back in time was the very beginning of present day Luleå. For some time, we had been planning to offer delicious, home cooked meals in our village and then we got started through social dining. Gathering together to enjoy a tasty meal is really great and we were glad to offer this experience to visitors in our beautiful village.

We love Nordic fare but international influences are also very much there in our cooking; crossover makes life - and thereby food - interesting and fun. We also grew our own organic vegetables and berries so meat (always locally sourced, often moose and sometimes reindeer) is for the most part a tasty bonus in our cooking. Our superb sour dough bread was, of course, baked at the premises.

It was a pleasure to serve you some genuine Nordic food, prepared with love and care in our kitchen that is also a part of our open dining space.

Thank you all!

Your host, Niilo Alhovaara - Suomenkieli sujuu vallan hyvin! - Ich spreche auch gerne Deutsch! - och självfallet pratar vi svenska :)
